TTU Windows Package

This Teradata Tools and Utilities (TTU) 16.00.03 package is the full collection of Teradata client tools for Windows.

This includes SQL Assistant, load & unload utilities, database management, administration and drivers, and much more to be used to connect to your Teradata Express database instance (downloaded separately).  Installation is easy and simple using a Windows installer.  The size of the download zip file is ~400 MB.  To install, extract the zip file into a temporary folder and run the setup.exe program.

Download Teradata Express for VMware, a free, fully-functional Teradata database, that can be up and running on your system in minutes. For TDE 14.0, please read the launch announcement, and the user guide. For previous versions, read the general introduction to the new Teradata Express family, or learn how to install and configure Teradata Express for VMware.

Does anyone know who builds and supports the Teradata Express VM's?  I'm a Teradata employee and I need to discuss having a custom VM built to support some client work.
Thanks and regards,
Jim Hudd.

The Teradata Profiler Plug-in for Eclipse is based on the Eclipse plug-in framework and the Teradata Plug-in for Eclipse Data Source Explorer (DSE). Teradata Profiler Plug-in for Eclipse enables the user to Profile Teradata and Aster tables/columns via the DSE as well as create projects containing analyses. The descriptive statistics available with the Teradata Profiler Plug-in provide a variety of functions to statistically analyze and explore data tables in a Teradata or Aster database. This is a complete version of the Teradata Profiler for Eclipse, without an evaluation time limit, however, it is limited in use to up to 40 GB of "connected" data. (Note that the validation of the 40 GB limit for the Express Edition requires SELECT access to the dbc.allspace view in Teradata or EXECUTE permission on the nc_relationstats SQL-MR function in Aster for the user.)

I'm working with the TDExpress15.10.0.7_Sles11_40GB_vp on VMware.   Everything but Viewpoint is working just fine.   I've run "start Viewpoint"  (also stop and start a few times).   Whenever I start up Firefox, I get the message I reference.   Has anyone else run into this problem?

The latest software available for download here is Teradata Warehouse Miner 05.04.01 Express Edition. This is a complete version of the Teradata Warehouse Miner product set, without an evaluation time limit, however, it is limited in use to up to 40 GB of "connected" data. (Note that the validation of the 40 GB limit for the Express Edition requires SELECT access to the dbc.allspace view in Teradata or EXECUTE permission on the nc_relationstats SQL-MR function in Aster for the user.)

Developer Edition is a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) operating system and Teradata Database packaged into a virtual container that runs in a VMware vSphere ESXI virtualized environment on third-party hardware. Developer Edition software consists of a template and associated property files and scripts. When a Developer Edition virtual machine is deployed, it operates as a fully functional instance of the configured Teradata Database. Once deployed by the VMware administrator, Developer Edition can be used to evaluate Teradata on VMware and the Teradata Database.
Note: You must have administrative privileges on the destination VMware environment to install and configure Developer Edition virtual machines.

Hey guys,
I am trying Aster Express and when I want to activate my worker in AMC, I receive that error under the Cluster Log.
2015-07-12T07:59:19.347889 WARN 6573 HttpClient.cpp:631 2779717573119434433] Error on socket 11: Connection refused

Hi all,
I can't get Tearadat Studio to start after the installation.
During installation, I got an error message saying that 'Due to an error, desktop short cut cannot be created, please manually create a shortcut"

TTU Windows Package

This Teradata Tools and Utilities (TTU) 15.00 package is the full collection of Teradata client tools for Windows.

I've been trying to download the TDE for VMware (4GB). Its not downloading. Are they unavailable at present. Are the VMware versions of Teradata Express for 64 bit the only option? They seem to be problem prone.

Is Teradata Database Express windows version still available to download in local machine to practice and hands on or it has been obsolete?
Because I can find TD Express VMware version but not any windows (32 bit) version.

Teradata is announcing new Teradata Express 14.10 images. These new images are at patch level which represents the current shipping version of Teradata 14.10. This gives you access to the recently released Teradata 14.10 database for your test and development needs.

I am developer and I am new to TeraData

I downloaded the TD14 VM (40GB) and I started it in
VmWare Workstation 7.1.1
(I do not have a WmWare Server)

Now SuSe linux shows a login dialog.

What can I do to start the database and to connect to the database ?

I got the package installed correctly but it will not open because it says I need version 1.6 or greater.  I tried going out online and finding this download and when I think I have it installed, I still get the error.  Has anyone run into this and if so what can be done to get this error fixed.

Teradata Warehouse Miner provides an array of data profiling and mining functions ranging from data exploration and transformation to analytic model development and deployment that are performed directly in the Teradata Database. While many data mining solutions require analysts to extract data samples to build and run analytic models, Teradata Warehouse Miner allows you to analyze detailed data without moving it out of the data warehouse, thus streamlining the data mining process.

Teradata Warehouse Miner, and its derivative products Teradata Analytic Data Set (ADS) Generator, Teradata Data Set Builder for SAS and Teradata Profiler, can provide both a framework for the data mining process and a significant savings of time and resources in implementing the process.

We are very excited to introduce the Aster Express for VMware Player images.  Much like the very popular Teradata Express program, these downloadable Aster virtual images will provide customers with a free evaluation version of the Aster analytic platform that can be run on their PC.  While this Express edition is not licensed for production usage, it is a fully functional Aster cluster that is a great tool for developers and testers or anyone else who wants a hands-on introduction to this Big Data analytics platform.  Over the coming weeks and months here on Teradata's Developer Exchange, we will be publishing Aster tutorials, along with sample datasets, that will highlight the powers of this exciting platform.

Aster Express virtual images are now available for downloading to your PC so that you can run an Aster cluster.  After installing VMware Player and downloading the Aster Queen and Worker images (see the Introduction to Aster Express article), you're ready to bring the Aster cluster to life!

We are successful with installing, running, loading, quering VMware 12.0 on WMware Server 2.0.

Now I would like to run Teradata on VMware ESXi 4.0.

Has anyone does this? Is there a version that runns on ESXi?

Hello - I am exploring the possibility of using an existing ETL tool (Ab Initio) to load data into TD Express databases for test/dev purposes. The ETL tool is already used to load data into a production TD system.

When first installing Teradata Express for your VMware or Amazon EC2 environment, there are some basic configuration steps that we need to make based on the IP addresses that are given to the instance when it is started.
