The problem:
I have a log table that will have a large number of individual inserts or rows each day(about 500).
I want to find a way to be able to delete all the lines that are for example more than 10 days old.

A Delete trigger on table T1 is intended to populate an audit table T1_Audit, but the insert fails with a 3523.  Here are the gory details;

CREATE MULTISET TABLE DEV_DB.T1 ,NO FALLBACK ,

     NO BEFORE JOURNAL,

     NO AFTER JOURNAL,

     CHECKSUM = DEFAULT,

     DEFAULT MERGEBLOCKRATIO

Is it possible to refresh a view every 15 minutes using a trigger?

Does anyone have an example of how you can refresh a view every so many minutes via a trigger?

Hello,

I am trying to create the following trigger, which is almost identical to a sample one that Teradata offers in their documentation.  However, I receive the error " CREATE TRIGGER Failed. 5424:  A triggered action statement is the wrong kind. "  Can anyone tell me what is wrong with the trigger?

Can I declare any variables within a trigger to store the returning value (OUT parameter, e.g. an INTEGER) from a stored procedure, like this:

CALL stdproc(variableName);

And after that, how can I use this returning value for making decisions inside the trigger (within an IF statement)?

Thanks!

I've found an appendix at the end of TD 13.10's "Temporal Table Support" reference, which contains some SQL code about how can you validating temporal referential integrity shown below. It works great until I want to embed it to a trigger's ...WHEN ( EXISTS (<here>))... section.

I've read the most relevant references from the TD 13.10 documents, but as I see, only soft RI-s are available with temporality - so you must do it yourself...

Which is the most acceptable (and also the simplest) solution maintaining RI's between temporal tables? TRIGGERs?

Hello,

In this case:

CREATE TABLE t1 (geom ST_GEOMETRY, id PRIMARY KEY not null integer) ;
CREATE TABLE t2 (geom ST_GEOMETRY, id PRIMARY KEY not null integer) ;

CREATE TRIGGER t_ins AFTER INSERT ON t
REFERENCING NEW TABLE AS nt
FOR EACH STATEMENT
BEGIN ATOMIC (
INSERT INTO t2 SELECT geom.ST_Envelope(), id FROM nt WHERE geom IS NOT null;
)
END;

INSERT INTO t (geom, id) VALUES (null,1);

I have the error : The owner expression of the UDM invocation 'ST_ENVELOPE' is not a UDT
What does it mean ?
Why ST_ENVELOPE is executed ?
And how to solve it ?

Can you please help me understand if Teradata provides DDL event based triggers. I want to grant permission to tables created in my schema automatically using a trigger.

Thanks
