0 - 9 of 9 tags for parallel

This “Teradata Basics” posting describes the current dimensions of parallelism in the Teradata Database, and how they work together.

I have a scenario at hand:-
Source: 9 Binary Flat Files (From Mainframe Source Systems)
Target: 1 Teradata Table
ETL Operations: Insert / Update / Delete using Informatica Workflows – Teradata MLOAD INSERT / UPDATE Connection String & Teradata MLOAD DELETE Connections String

If each PE supports upto 120 sessions and each session can run 16 requests in parallel and each AMP can run 80 tasks in parallel,

does this mean that we need minimum 24 AMPs ((120*16)/80)???

Hi,
I am successfully exporting with fast export tool. However I am not sure about parallelism of export.
From fastexport logs I have:
**** 13:49:28 UTY8715 FastExport is submitting the following request:
     CHECK WORKLOAD END;
**** 13:49:28 UTY0844 Session count 8 returned by the DBS overrides

I have SQL that needs to run some preprocessing creating a volatile table to be exported to a file. If I use a setup step TPT is using a different session for each step and the volatile table goes away. Anyone have a work around?

Any idea why TPT is using more spool than the same query in other tools such a SQL Assistiant?

This book provides information on how to use the Teradata Parallel Transporter (Teradata PT) Application Programming Interface. There are instructions on how to set up the interface, adding checkpoint and restart, error reporting, and code examples.

This book provides reference information about the components of Teradata Parallel Transporter (Teradata PT), an object-oriented client application that provides scalable, high-speed, parallel data extraction, loading, and updating. These capabilities can be extended with customizations or with third-party products.
