0 - 4 of 4 tags for capacity planning

Hello Everyone,

I have read that DBQL and ResUsageS tables, views and macros are important for system capacity planning. For example ResUsageSpma and ResNode. But what about the other tables and views.

Are they also monitored for capacity planning ?

I finally caught up on my reading over the holidays – funny what 12 hours of captivity in coach will do – and I highly recommend the November 6, 2010 special report from The Economist on Smart Systems.

Have you found Capacity Planning to be an unfruitful chore? Do you find yourself continually surprised by new applications surfacing on your data warehouse with little warning or poorly defined resource requirements? Is Capacity Planning only done as an eleventh hour means to budget forecasting? Effective Capacity Management is a critical aspect of a solid Performance Management Foundation.
