IDE for portlet development.

Is there an IDE that can be used to develop portlets for Viewpoint?  Ideally one that will allow full interactive debugging rather than just a coding environment.  I've installed the portlet PDK stuff and that's working fine (depsite looking like a fairly hairy installation process!), and I've got a VMWare TD 13.10 image I'm going to try and configure with Viewpoint.

Any advise, documents, links, etc gratefully received.

Jim Hudd.

No IDE version for portlet development, just the Viewpoint PDK.

That said, being that Viewpoint is a java application, your Viewpoint portlets can be debugged using an IDE, for example, Eclipse or IntelliJ.

I was hoping there might be a nice Eclipse plugin already set up for portlets.  It's lot of pain normally to try and set up IDE's to debug apps that are running within another framework.

I'm afraid there's no such plugin.

Does anyone have any experience of setting up an IDE, and things to do/watch out for?  I'm sure people aren't coding in notepad and debugging by sight alone!
