Upload files .dat in Teradata

Hello ,
I have a question concerning the upload of files in Teradata.
Is it possible to upload in files .dat in Teradata? Files .dat are files with fixed record lengths, without tab or any other coloumn delimiter.
Thank you and best regards,
Valeria

Hi Valeria,
of course Teradata's load tools support fixed length data, depending on your actual data & tool it's e.g. Format = 'Text' in TPT for all character fixed length (your input schema must be all CHARs then).

Hello Dieter,
thank you for your quick answer.
Please have a look at my Teradata Tools Settings in the file in attachment. Maybe you can help me to flag and choose the correct settings because I don't find "Format = "Text".
Thank you,
Valeria

SQL Assistant only imports delimited files. But the command-line utilities allow you to define fixed record layouts.

Teradata Parallel Transporter, BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad are part of the TTU base bundle that also includes SQL Assistant.

They are separate batch-oriented client utilities, unrelated to SQL Assistant.
