TPT: system variables with result count

Hi everybody,

In the current implementation of our load scripts with multiload and tpump we are using the system variables holding the result count(&sysinscnt, &sysupdcnt, &sysetcnt, &sysuvcnt)  for logging and further processing.

With TPT those variables are not available any more, but we still need those figures. Is there any other way to receive the record counts of target and error tables than doing a select count on the tables manually or cutting the information from log file?

In the reference it is also said that in TPT C API the record counts are available. Are there any plans to make it accessable in TPT scripts?

Any help would be great!

The system variable enhancement has been on our list of features to implement for a long time. But, like everything else, features are prioritized and this one never seems to make it high enough.

In 14.10 we are implementing a feature by which all of the static and dynamically obtained metadata will be inserted into Teradata tables.

This will enable the users to use SQL to obtain any type of information from any job run on that Teradata system.

We feel this will be a more beneficial feature for the users.

Of course, this system variable feature will remain on our list and we will revisit the priorities in the 15.0 timeframe.

That metadata approach sounds interesting, it doesn't have to be necessarily a system variable. As long as there is any method to get this information it will be fine. So I'm looking forward for that feature.

Has the MLOAD system variables been added to the TPT product?   Besides the &sys vars.  we would like to know if there is a way to capture Table stats.  when using the MERGE statement.   Number of rows ins, Number of rows updated.

System variables have not been added to the TPT product yet. We are planning to add the system variables in the TPT 15.00 release.

Iam  trying to Develop a TPT script with multiple instances of the  DataConnector Operator to extract rows from a file and uses multiple instances of the Update Operator to perform upserts against two tables.
I am getting the following error while running it.

Can you set the TPT Update operator's TraceLevel attribute to 'ALL' in the TPT job script?
Example:
VARCHAR TraceLevel = 'ALL',
Then, re-run the TPT job.

What Teradata CLIv2 version are you using?
According to the TPT log, you did not specified a value for the TPT Update operator's TdpId attribute.
As a workaround, can you specify a value for the TPT Update operator's TdpId attribute in the TPT job script?
Example:
VARCHAR TdpId = 'myTdpId',
Replace "myTdpId" with your own TdpId value.
Afterwards, re-run your TPT job.

Cant We use the exit routine which has this meta data such as records read and inserted

Does TPT now have the "system variable enhancement" or "the metadata table" please?

System variable enhancement is not yet supported.
Metadata table enhancement is implemented, but not yet officially released to the public. We are working on completing that in this current release.
Availability date is not yet known.

When can we expect to see this functionality? When will it be usable via IBM Information Server, formerly Data Stage?  The legacy Enterprise stage offers this but can't get the same functionality from the Connector stage.

"This functionality" means that we will be populating Teradata tables with complete operational metadata.
I cannot comment on this feature being usable by IBM Information Server, as I am not familiar with that product.
We are working on this in our current TPT 16.0 release. Release dates are not being published yet.
