Problem with TPT 12

Hi, I am trying to export data from a Teradata 12 DB using TPT12 but always get the error "[exportop.dll) instance(1): INITIATE method failed with status = Not Found]".I have also set TD_TRACE_OUTPUT but the trace file is not generated. Any ideas on what could be wrong & also is there some thing else that I need to do to get a more meaningful error.ThanksRaam

Make sure you've set the TD_TARGET_TABLE attribute to the name of the table you're reading from and the TD_SELECT_STMT to the select statement to execute (i.e. "SELECT Col1, Col2, Col3 FROM YourTable;").

You indicated that you are using TPT12.0, but it sounds as if you arereally using TPTAPI (by your use of TD_xxxxxx attribute names). The Export operator does not support a target table attribute. However, the "not found" error could be sue to a missing mandatory attribute. If you are running the script based TPT, please send me your script. If you are using TPTAPI, please send me the full list of attributes youare setting in the connection object.

Hi feinholz

What'a the difference between to use TPT and TPTAPI?

Exactly what's the use of the TD_TRACE_OUTPUT?. Where I can to configure it?

When I use a ETL tool, for example DataStage, where I define the TD_TRACE_OUTPUT? This is a enviorenment variable?

"TPT" i used to refer to the script-based tool.

"TPTAPI" is the API-version of TPT.

TD_TRACE_OUTPUT is a method for generating debug information to help diagnose a particular problem.

For DataStage, you would have to refer to the DataStage documentation. I do not know how to set up degugging and diagnostics.
