Teradata Systems Engineer - Minneapolis/St Paul area

I have a contract position in the Minneapolis/St Paul area (Zip Code: 55479) for a Teradata Systems Engineer for six month to one year with an option to hire by my client. I will consider both W2 and 1099 consultants. See the job description below.Must haves: • 4+ years supporting Open Systems MP-RAS software planning & coordinating • Application & Infrastructure architecture & design • Teradata Database infrastructure & application use • Development of Unix korn shells & scripts • Excellent verbal communication skills necessary to regularly interact both with production support team members and customers of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) application • Strong writing skills to document production support procedures • Demonstrated ability to tune Unix system software and make recommendations for performance changes to CPU, memory & I/O; Familiar with tools such as BMC Patrol or SAR Nice to haves: • Ability to provide technical leadership for large projects involving new sever & storage hardware upgrades and installs • Demonstrated ability to perform systems capacity planning • Understanding of web interface technologies including HTTP, SSL • Demonstrated ability to plan & support infrastructure of Teradata RAS clustered servers & large storage arrays • Enterprise Data Warehousing application experience highly desired. • Skilled in SAN environments and various storage management systems such as TSM, NetVault or NetBackup • Experienced with supporting Connect Direct/NDM, DataStage, Autosys, Rochade, Websphere, Http server, Tomcat, Teradata, MS Windows Job Description: Responsible for supporting the hardware/software infrastructure of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment. Acts as a planner & builder of hardware/software on open systems. Involves analyzing, planning and implementing new approaches & solutions for the environment and supporting existing infrastructure. Acts in a high-level technical role as a designer for major computer applications utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. Works on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors. Acts as expert technical resource to programming staff in the program development, testing, and implementation process. May act as project/team lead.
