Perform duties to follow and support the business system’s life cycle.  Design, develop and maintain warehouse components and business systems to satisfy financial and statutory reporting requirements along with enhancing and facilitating decision making capabilities.


1.   Using independent judgment, analyze business requirements and work with client areas to produce specifications
2.   Interview clients and gather information for business requirements 
3.   Independently design and develop solutions to support business needs using the appropriate platform, tools and programming languages on assorted system requests as assigned by the Unit Manager
4.   Perform the first level of testing for new and/or enhanced system code.  Provide support for acceptance testing
5.   Turn business requirements into functional specifications for use as reference for IT personnel and as project guidelines
6.   Maintain existing business systems by providing production support for troubleshooting and regular processing needs
7.   Conduct performance tuning on new and existing systems to insure optimal efficiency
8.   On call support for newly designed systems
9.   Ensure newly designed systems run as needed, perform validity check on production output, troubleshoot when necessary and coordinate emergency procedures among all affected personnel in the event of a failure
10.   Insure that all new and existing systems meet insurance industry compliance requirements
11.   Interface with external insurance industry regulators
12.   Maintain a current knowledge of warehousing principles and industry products
13.   Communicates via electronic mail acknowledging and sending correspondence in a professional, timely manner
14.   Performs other work-related duties as assigned


•Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications in technical system design
•Five to seven years of property/casualty insurance experience required

•Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills
•Strong oral and written communication skills
