without specifying CASE SPECIFIC in a table, How can we retrieve only lower case letters in teradataC

Hi Everyone,
My target table is created as NOT CASESPECIFIC by default.
I have uppercase letters and lowercase letters in my table.(eg: In name column :1)ravi 2)MANI 3)HARI 4) suresh)
How can we retrive only lower case letters in the table  without specifying CASESPECIFIC in a table?

Thanks in advance...
Regards,

Try setting to ANSI mode;
.set session transaction=ANSI

Hi Purushotham,
You can simply add CASESPECIFIC within your query:
WHERE col (CASESPECIFIC) = 'suresh'
If you always need to get a case sensitive comparison you should better change the column definition to CASESPECIFIC.
