Modifying the partition with case_n

Hi,

I have a tableA with partition given below,

PARTITION BY ( CASE_N(

sys =  1,

sys=   2,

sys=   3

NO CASE OR UNKNOWN),CASE_N(

cyc =  1,

cyc=   2,

cyc=   3

 NO CASE OR UNKNOWN) );

I have to add a new value sys =4 to the case in the partition.

Is it possible to modify without recreating the table.

Thanks,

Karthik. N

You can use alter table command. In your case this will do:

ALTER TABLE testpartition MODIFY PRIMARY INDEX

PARTITION BY ( CASE_N(

sys = 1,

sys = 2,

sys = 3,

sys = 4,

NO CASE OR UNKNOWN),

CASE_N(

cyc = 1,

cyc = 2,

cyc = 3,

NO CASE OR UNKNOWN) );
