Fload table release lock

how do we release the lock on table ,if table has been locked while loading data by using F-load?

release lock databasename.tablename

For fastload we can not release lock, we drop the table and recreate it again.

 

Other way is to run a fastload which contain BEGIN LOADING and END LOADING statement.

Can you provide the script for relase lock on any table?

example  table is emp

Following will be included in the script.

 

 

LOGON dbc/sjn,music ;

BEGIN LOADING Fast_Table

ERRORFILES Error_1, Error_2 ;

END LOADING ;

 

Pg 50 of Teradata Fastload Reference.

 

We used to drop the table and recreate it in our project.

how can i know how much time its take to load a data into table?

can i get in logfile?

yes all the details , number of records loaded , number of records duplicate and the time take will be present in the log file.

Can we have some procedure to release locks/ drop and recreate table which is locked by FLOAD. How are you handling in your Project?
