JUDF and 5600 Error creating UDF/XSP/UDM/UDT: no compiler available. Topic by RW255006 04 Apr 2011 judf, 5600 error, no compiler available

Hello,

I'm using two different types of Java :

C:\Program Files\Teradata\jvm\jre5_32\
C:\Program Files\Java\jre6

which I can switch in : Teradata Service Manager -> Update TDJRE ( so Register value on JRE is changed )

I'm also using plugin for eclipse and Teradata Express v13.00.00.12 / Windows 32 bit

I'm able to:

- connect to database,
- create user
- create schema
- in teradata command pompt I can see path to java.
- I have all grants to create JUDFs ( inc. ALTR EXTERNAL PROCEDURE )
- I have SQLJ schema with INSTALL procedure
- Java is set to 1.5

UDF overloading issue Topic by pranilrp 27 Mar 2011

Hi,
I have to convert SQL server function isNumeric to teradata.
IsNumeric checks for the string in numeric format or not.( eg. sel isNumeric('123'); --ans:- 1. sel isNumeric('abc'); --ans :- 0)
isNumeric also accepts numeric value or column as its parameter(dont know why??) (eg. sel isNumeric(123); --ans:- 1)
now implementing it in teradata, a way possible is overload it with two inputs, 1st varchar datatype and 2nd integer datatype( and many other datatype like FLOAT).
and it is done.
but problem occurs when it comes to null handling.

Drop overloaded UDF Topic by damien.reed 07 Mar 2011 udf, drop, overload

I've created four UDFs to handle data transformation from MAINFRAME source files. Originally the data type for all UDFs was to be fixed as VARCHAR, however after careful investigation of source data by one of my colleagues, two of the functions needed to be overloaded to accept both VARCHAR and VARBYTE, and the remaining two UDFs required both VARCHAR and DECIMAL.

I'm running a DROP statement for all UDFs before running a REPLACE FUNCTION statement, however I encounter the following problem (extract from log file; have used <**> to mask database name):

I am trying to create a UDF SQL function in Teradata 13, but keeping getting errors when I try to compile it. So I have tried creating one from the Teradata documentation just to see if I could get it to work, but and getting the same error message.

CREATE FUNCTION NS_TEST_DB.MyUDF (a INT, b INT, c INT)
RETURNS INT
LANGUAGE SQL
CONTAINS SQL
DETERMINISTIC
SQL SECURITY DEFINER
COLLATION INVOKER
INLINE TYPE 1
RETURN a + b - c;

XML Service - publishing special character XML Topic by jcmerceronhome 30 Sep 2010

Hi,

we try to publish xml document but special characters are not correctly transformed by the stored procedure publish_lob_ref.

The query string gets column like comments which contain some special character like < > ' " & .
When we use the publish_lob_ref procedure with the query, the result of the xml document doesn't transform the special character and so the xml document is not valid.

Special character should become like that :

< should be transformed in <
> should be transformed in >
...

Importing existing Java Stored Procedures Topic by js185064 28 May 2010 java external stored procedure, teradata ide

Did you know you can import existing Java Stored Procedures into the JXSP Multi-Page Editor with the JXSP Wizard using the Teradata Plug-in for Eclipse? When you use the import feature, your JXSP must have a Java Package. Do not use the default package when importing.

UDF - pass dates to create factor Topic by jbanas 12 May 2010

i am fairly new to creating functions in teradata. i want to stress that i tried to create a simplistic c program to perform this code. i dont know if it is right or not. I attempted to create a function that will pass dates to determine a factor. i am having issues with the function and was hoping someone could look at it. First, i wil show you what i was trying to do in a basic module and then pass values into the function as a second example.

Module (pass values below to determine the factor) seems pretty simple
