Volatile Table Vs Derived Table ... Which is best in terms of performance when used in a Join? - - Had a confusion..

It depends.
Derived table potentially allows for more global query optimization; volatile table gives you more control e.g. PI for data distribution.
If the optimizer chooses to materialize the derived table as a spool hash distributed on the same columns, the performance should be approximately the same.
