Spool Space Error

Hello all, I have to create volatile tables in spool space. However I always exceed the spool space limit with my present code.I was wondering if there is any technique to flush the spool space to make some available temporarily.Thanks,az_maverick

Spool space is usually good enough for the individual users. You may have to look at the SQL and see if there is any problem. Use Explain and see how many result rows you are getting...I have past experience of this issue and I tried running the SQL when there is low traffic on the server. I would first tweak the SQL and try this.

Please remember that I do not have access to update any of the DBC/system tables.Thanks,az_maverick

Make sure you specify a suitable primary index in the volatile table definition to insure that your table is evenly distributed over the AMPs. The spool quota is enforced on each AMP. If too many rows go to one AMP, you get the out of spool error even if plenty of space is available on other AMPs.
