Sort a cell value

Hello,
I want to sort the value inside a cell.
Is there a predefine function/UDF? or I need to write one?
for example :

column1

-------

BCA

RQP

YZX

sel sort(column1) as column2;

should give

column2

-------

ABC

PQR

XYZ

What does the actual data look like?
Is there a limited number of values?
Is this a one time only task?

And of course the most important question: Why is this column not properly normalized?

Hello Dieter,
I want to sort the data within the value. The example is BAC -> ABC and ZYX -> XYZ.
Actual data will be varchar, set of alfa-numeric values.
No limit for number of values.
Its a one time task.
