Number of tables

I am wandering what is the best practice in teradate.. small number of tables or big number will be better?
 
We are a company in the first face of implimantation and we are not sure from the above.

it is not the number of tables that need to be considered but the design of the tables and the normalization that is taken into consideration for the data model based as a best practice.

OK but with a good desgin for the tables is it better to have alot of tables or less will be better?

We build  a warehouse for business purpose.
 
I suggest you go through this document, in brief.It is brief and to the point. What do you want , dimensional or 3 NF?

This statement is good :
"Does this mean that dimensional modeling is invalid as a database design technique for data warehousing? The answer is not at all"
