Key (Important) tables in DBC database

Hi,
I am new to TERADATA technology,
Can anybody let me know the KEY (IMPORTANT) tables of DBC database ???
I want to work on key tables which are available/used in DBC database to improve the system performance.
Kindly share the script or required table name/information OR source table name from where I will get the required key tables.

Hi,
For performance information I think you ought to concentrate on the following:
ResusageSPMA: node level performance information (cpu usage, memory, disk io's etc)
ResusageSVPR: same kind of info but at the vproc (AMP or PE) level
DBQLogTbl: ** very ** useful table for anything about individual queries
All of these are in database DBC although most sites will implement PDCR or SHS processes to move the data to another database on a regular basis (highly recommended practise).
There are other tables (Resusage???? and DBQL???) but if you start with those you'll get a long way.
Cheers,
Dave

I think you can collect stats on these tables.
DBC.AccessRights
DBC.DBase
DBC.Indexes
DBC.Owners
DBC.Profiles
DBC.Roles
DBC.RoleGrants
DBC.TVFields
DBC.TVM
DBC.UDFInfo
We may need to check DBQL if really data dictionary tables are intensively used.

You can use the tables mentioned by Dave to know whats happening in the system and can surely find the areas that are being used frequently hence can put focused efforts on them to optimize the system.

Also, depending on your role in a bigger picture .... may be you can come up with the set of things to do or not do for developers to work with.
