hi dieter,

thanks for the reply,

as i found from my seniours is like once if we go for delete means its a permanent deletion. and one more question is like "is there any rollback(command) support from teradata" to get back the deleted table.

thanks in advance,

Did you DROP or DELETE the table?

Of course there's a ROLLBACK but only for open transactions.

Depending on your session mode:
Teradata mode: by default each request is a transaction (kind of auto commit) unless you use BEGIN/END TRANSACTION
ANSI mode: a transaction is open until you COMMIT it

There's also a Permanent Journal, but most sites don't switch it on.

hi dieter,

I am new to TD. I would like to extend this thread... as i got the questions now.

As we have flashback recovery options in oracle to recover tha dropped tables similirly do we have any such options in teradata.

Can FALLBACK help? else what things we need to set before creating database tables for disaster recovery.

Thanks in advance.
