Error: SQL Error:Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error

Hi,

When I tried to install the Teradata ODBC Driver 13.0.0.2(64 Bit) in the Windows 2008 R2 and tried to run through the QlikView, Iam getting this error "Error: SQL Error:Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 126: The specified module could not be found. (Teradata, C:\Program Files\Teradata\Client\13.0\ODBC Driver for Teradata\Lib\tdata32.dll)."

I found that the file is available in the specified location. Please clarify whether Teradata ODBC driver 64 bit is compatible with the windows 2008 R2.

Please let me know what needs to be done to fix this error? Is there any higher version of the Teradata which is compatible for the windows 2008 R2.

Appreciated your response at the earliest.

Product Details

Product: ODBC Driver For Teradata
Version: 13.0.0.2
OS:Windows 2008 Enterprise R2

Thanks,
Vikram

Most likely you have incompatibile Teradata ICU package. Make sure you have 64-bit TTU 13.0 (or later Efix on this release) Teradata ICU package installed.

Vikram,

Sorry to hear about your issues but am embarking on same goal of connecting QlikView to TeraData. Glad to see that you have gotten further than myself as I am unable to locate 64-bit Windows ODBC driver.

Have you solved your issue? Can you help me in locating above driver?

Thank you,

Ben

If you have installed, you can find it uther the path, (assuming you have installed on c:\program files")

C:\Program Files\Teradata\Client\\ODBC Driver for Teradata\Lib

You can download the ODBC pkg. from

http://www.teradata.com/DownloadCenter/Forum90-1.aspx

Hi, I'm attempting to create a linked server to Teradata from my 64 bit SQLServer/Windows 2008R2 and I'm getting the same error i.e., error 126: The specified module could not be found. (Teradata, C:\Program Files\Teradata\Client\13.0\ODBC Driver for Teradata\Lib\tdata32.dll). I have installed the bundled TTU13.10.00.05 64 bit.
Help anyone? Thanks

- Make sure you have 13.10.0.x ICU & TeraGSS pkg. installed.
- Make sure you have a ODBC DSN created using 64-bit ODBC Administrator.
- If you have installed Teradata pkgs. while linked server is running, then re-start the linked server(to have it pick-up the environment changes from TTU installation)

Make sure you reboot the server after installing teradata odbc drivers before you attempt to create a linked server. That applies to both 32 and 64 bit.

what do you think about Apendix B .

Appendix B - DSN Migration

DSN Migration will be automatically done by the ODBC Driver for Teradata

    Package.

For explicit DSN Migration , from a DOS window, the user will change directories

to where the tdodbcdsn.vbs is located and use the below commandline to change all

Teradata DSN's to the present installed version.

For 32bit Package : cscript tdodbcdsn.vbs 32bit

For 64bit Package : cscript tdodbcdsn.vbs 64bit

For Backward DSN Migration, to restore the previous Teradata DSN driver

values , change directories to where the tdodbcdsn.vbs is available and use

    the below command line .

Note : The below command only restores the DSN values which are available

           at the time of installation.

    cscript tdodbcdsn.vbs %SYSTEMROOT%\temp\Teradata_DSN_Migration_[type]_[timestamp].txt

Regards .

Rebooting the server worked for me.
