It is believed that the computer called Deep Thought in the famous Douglas Adams' novel, “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” used Excel in the last step of figuring out the meaning of life. It is too bad Deep Thought couldn’t access the data in Teradata Database and let Teradata do the analytics because it would've figured out the meaning of life much sooner.

In this talk, you'll learn how to access your business data from Excel seamlessly and without having to build extraction scripts and/or settle for a very small subset of the data. Also learn how you can create Excel-based solutions targeted for different users while maintaining full access control for the sensitive business data. Also see an Excel PivotTable demo accessing and analyzing data stored in Teradata Database. After this talk, you'll learn the meaning of life, and you will understand the benefits of making Excel access Teradata Database directly and what you need to do to deploy the solution.

Note: This was a 2012 Teradata Partners Conference session.
