The following tutorial is a guide on how to implement the Viewpoint DataGrid and BigNumbers Widget.  In this example we will show how these widgets were incorporated into the SkewedSessions Portlet.  The actual source code can be found in the SkewedSessions Portlet supplied in PDK version 14.01.

 

Query Groups are great for allowing BI Tool admins to monitor tool specific sessions that are currently active and rewind to go back in time. However, Query Spotlight is a great tool to spotlight sessions that may have been TASM aborted because of excessive Spool or CPU consumption.

Teradata is pleased to announce the Teradata Multi-System Manager (TMSM) 14.00 release effective May 23rd, 2012 (sorry, a little tardy on the release article).  This release is focused on customer enhancement requests, many of which were tied to extending the TMSM infrastructure to better suit customer environments and volume usage. The release includes focused performance improvements, portlet updates, enhancements to the API, and expanded browser support.

Are there any plans to introduce a portlet that mimics the behavior of AtanaSoft's CompressTool on Viewpoint? (Maybe even license the IP from AtanaSoft or work with AtanaSoft for them to develop the portlet)

Overview

Personal Workspace Template is a demo portlet application that allows business users and developers to easily allocate a private Workspace (i.e. a database) within a Teradata System. Using this self service portlet, a user can create a database, upload comma separated values (.CSV) data to begin analysis of their data – all within 5-10 minutes.

The Teradata Viewpoint team is often asked how do I do this Teradata Manager function in Viewpoint? Although Teradata Viewpoint is fairly intuitive and offers excellent on-line help, it seemed worth creating an article related to this subject to accomplish two things.

The primary focus of this Viewpoint release is the "Workload Designer" portlet for Teradata Active System Management (TASM) / workload management configuration. The Workload Designer portlet is an addition to the TASM Portlets bundle joining the Workload Health and Workload Monitor portlets introduced with the Teradata Viewpoint / TASM Portlets 13.02 release in January 2010.
