I want to start using a Viewpoint AMI so that I can connect my other Teradata instances to it and start monitoring, running backup jobs, and etc. What is the proper way to launch and set up a Viewpoint image on AWS?

I don't want the IP addresses to change when I restart my instances. Is there any way I can stop Amazon from changing the IP addresses of my instances?

Is there a way I can keep track of some sorf of metrics for my AWS EC2 instance?

Hi all,

Hi!
I already installed and played with Aster Express in VMware on my local machine. Now I need to install it on EC2 to make available for our demo server. Are there AMI files for Aster Queen / Worker nodes that I can use to deploy it on EC2?
Thanks, Boris.

  • Used the Teradata 14 supplied image for installing on Amazon's EC2 and followed the TD installation guide.
  • No users, no load, no jobs -- nothing happening from the user environment -- the server is in an idle state.

I am unable to attach to the second volume I have created for the TD14 image.  The first attached without a hitch but now the second is hanging.  I have detached, rebooted, stop and restart the instance, but nothing seems to help.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cloud Computing is a computing service provisioning and delivery model in which users get access to dynamically scalable computing capacity over the network in a pay-as-you-use payment scheme. While its attractiveness may differ depending on whom you've talked to, its service-oriented nature gives users two important benefits: ease of application deployment (someone else's hard works laying down the hardware and software foundation) and on-demand access anytime from anywhere. These characterstics make Cloud Computing ideally suited for developers who want to quickly try something out in an isolated "good" environment without the overhead of system setup or the capital expenses of paying for systems they no longer need after they are done.

When first installing Teradata Express for your VMware or Amazon EC2 environment, there are some basic configuration steps that we need to make based on the IP addresses that are given to the instance when it is started.

Hey Guys,

Has anyone successfully registered and given access to the Teradata Express 12 for Amazon EC2? I've registered twice and gotten the following delivered to my email twice.... with no future followup from Teradata and no teradata ami visible in my AWS...
