I am trying to use a Data Mover EC2 instance to move data from one TD instance to another TD instance. I have successfully launched a Data Mover image, but I have no idea how to configure this thing. Can anyone help?

A step-by-step guide to building an automated framework for synchronizing your disaster-recovery and primary systems using Unity Data Mover.

Unity Data Mover is a powerful tool for copying data between systems in the Teradata UDA. It delivers the confidence a business needs when moving data to the right place at the right time.

We are pleased to announce the General Customer Availability (GCA) of Unity Data Mover 15.10 as of June 2015. With release 15.10, Unity Data Mover is now certified with Teradata Database 15.10. Data Mover 15.10 can utilize QueryGrid/foreign server connections to move data from Hadoop to Teradata (if installed) in addition to using the Teradata Connector for Hadoop (TDCH).  Hadoop support has also been extended to support TDH 2.1.7, Hortonworks 2.1.7 on commodity hardware and Cloudera 4.3 on commodity hardware. Hi,

Is there any setting in viewpoint or data mover that will prevent execution of data mover job from viewpoint portlet.
We want to create the data mover job from viewpoint  but execution must be done via command line on data mover.

Appreciate your input.

Unity Data Mover, previously known as Teradata Data Mover, is a product that plays an important role in the movement of data from one Teradata system to another.

Data Mover is a Teradata Application that allows users to copy databases or tables between Teradata systems. It is a JEE based application that is composed of three major code components: the Client (Command-line interface or Viewpoint portlet), the Daemon, and the Agent.

Teradata Data Mover (version 13.10) introduced job level security management which allows users to specify access rights at job level. Through the Teradata Data Mover Portlet, a Viewpoint user with access to Data Mover Portlet can grant/revoke access rights of individual Data Mover job to other Viewpoint users with access to Data Mover portlet.

Teradata Data Mover is a new product that plays an important role in the movement of data from one Teradata system to another. It is a key component in moving that data between production systems, between production and test systems, and fits into the overall Dual Active scenario. Teradata Data Mover will provide the capability to move large quantities of Teradata Database objects, automatically determining the most optimal method under the covers. Teradata Data Mover provides a new overall mechanism of data synchronization between systems, employing a simple high-level interface, while at the same time solving the complexities for the user.
