Hi All,

We are trying to read data from Hive table and load into teradata table after lots of transformation. So, we are trying to use "load_from_hcatalog". But while selecting data, we are getting below error:

Dear community,
for one of my customers I am looking for best practices and guidelines for loading data with Informatica PowerCenter into Aster.
Any feedback or guidance on this would highly be appreciated.

A download location for 'R Repository'.

This article will introduce you to the new user experience provided by Teradata Studio's Administration Perspective; an improved interface for creating and modifying database objects.

For a Fortune 50 Banking Company. W2 or corp-to-corp. Local candidates preferred but those willing to relocate will be considered. Manager would like to interview as soon as possible.

Must have hands on experience with SQL development in Aster environment

Aster R is easy for the intermediate R user to pick up and quickly begin data science on enterprise-level datasets.

Hi All,

I was looking to download Teradata Loom. But seems it is not available to download. Can someone confirm if this is available or discontinued?

Hi,
I am using the visualizer function on some graph data. I would like to annotate some column values to both the nodes and edges. I can only seem to do so for either the nodes only or the edges only. When I run the following code, the columns from the edge table aren't recognized.

INSERT INTO app_center_visualizations  (json)

Aster AppCenter provides the citizen data scientist the ability  to run a different type of analytic.

Aster is an analytic discovery application that lets you perform exploratory queries across your data regardless if it is structured or not.

Is there any way to run from command line and/or schedule (with given variables) the Executables saved in AMC ?
For example, there would be an Insert that would transfer/load from a Hive table to an Aster table a given day_id, and this should run every day at sometime.

Thanks,
Mat

CFilter

What Is It?
This function performs collaborative filtering by using a series of SQL commands and SQL-MapReduce functions. You run this function by using an internal JDBC wrapper function.

Usage

Hi,
I have TD Studio 15.10, TD DB 15.0, HDP 2.0 and Aster 6.0. They are all connected well in TD Studio and I can see the tables.
I'm doing some tests on Aster based on a HDP table but when I execute the query:

SELECT * FROM load_from_hcatalog
(USING server('192.168.100.131')
port('9083')
username('root')

What is Aster Express?

Is there any difference in basic functionality or performance between:
- right-clicking on a table to use the data import widget
and
-using ncluster_loader from the command line
?

Hey guys,
I am trying Aster Express and when I want to activate my worker in AMC, I receive that error under the Cluster Log.
2015-07-12T07:59:19.347889 WARN 6573 HttpClient.cpp:631 2779717573119434433] Error on socket 11: Connection refused

I am using the following No-Sql query to create a path to be displayed via a Sankey.

Can't access the aster lens catalog using the IP 192.168.100.150, although the AMC via the IP 192.168.100.100 is accessable.

Hi Team,
I was trying to look for the table definitions using the SQL but failed to do so..

I am aware about act command :  \d <schema> <tablename> but that will just show the components not the definition. L

Analysts have deep knowledge of the procedures and reports their desktop tools currently use and produce, but can stumble when they need to get better insights fast on “too big” data.

Teradata Studio 15.10 is now available for download. Teradata Studio is an administration tool for creating and administering database objects. It can be run on multiple operating system platforms, such as Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX.

Use the following links to obtain the Aster Client tools for your platform :

This Webinar discusses the 4 Graph types (Sankey, Chord, Sigma, and Tree) and when to use which Graph type given the data you have.

Hello,
I'm trying to run Aster Express on my Macbook. I have VMWare Fusion. I set up the network using these following instructions (http://donaldaly.blogspot.com/2012/12/running-teradata-aster-express-on.html).

However, my NIC's are no good. What can I do?

Where can I get theAster ncluster odbc driver for mac os. I need the driver for RODBC connectivity.

Thanks,
Amit

Hi,
I was wondering if there are work-arounds for creating stored procedures in Teradata Aster without using SQL-MapReduce.
Thanks
Federico

Can any one please tell me where can i find built-in SQl-GR functions for aster 6.0?

I know in Aster, we can add partitions to logically partitioned table. We can also remove partitions from a logically partition table.

My question is if you create a table and forget to partition it. How will you add partitioning?

Example:

Case (i) Adding Partitions

The Unified Data Architecture enables Teradata, Aster and Hadoop to deliver unparalleled value.

A number of places on the website and forum refer to a demo VM for Aster Express 6.0 but I can only find the link[1] for downloading 5.10.
Is there a 6.0 test VM for Aster Express?

Hello alltogether,
We would like to develop Aster MapReduce Functions with C++.
For Java we found the hints on Eclipse Plugins and development tools (ADE). But for C++ we didn't find anything yet. Is there any link that could help to set up an IDE/ADE for C++.
Thank you in advance
Lars

When you give your customers what they want based on data they have been sending you, you stand a chance of retaining that user as a customer.

Big Data is a challenge today for most companies. Aster’s Big Data Discovery platform, with its library of SQL-MapReduce functions, enables your business analysts and data scientist to easily uncover new insights and business opportunities.

I've followed the "getting started" instructions for Aster Express. I'm using 5.0express-r29890.
Successfully added the Worker node but when I click on "Activate Cluster" I always get "Failed to start cluster activation" in the status bar. I saw during start-up of the worker node that the nCluster service failed to start.

Hello,
I downloaded Aster v5 and v6 VM Images available from the download section and have been able to replicate the error on both. I'm logged in as aster
I have a single node hadoop cluster 2.2.0 with hive 0.12 (webhcat running on 50111). I can ping both machines and connectivity is good.

In some areas, big data tools, such as Hadoop and HBase, overlap with relational databases and data warehouses. Putting the hyperbole aside, how should you choose when both systems provide analytic value?
